Complacency. That is the word and anti-word of the day. So many people are complacent. They are happy with how things are and let the world go by. A lot of the time, they are not happy with how things are, but they let the world go by them anyway. These are the people who complain that something isn’t right, but then they go back to watching their favorite TV show.
Well, I am happy to say that this post is not about someone like that. In fact, it’s about two women who did something and inspired a lot of other people to do something. And thanks to them, Snyder’s of Hanover will now have Gluten Free Pretzel Sticks that will be certified gluten free.
So many people are posting or tweeting that they are so excited about Snyder’s Gluten Free Pretzel Sticks. So happy that they took the time to become certified by GFCO (Gluten Free Certification Organization), a program of GIG (Gluten Intolerance Group). But that might not have happened if it weren’t for the efforts of Jules (http://www.julesglutenfree.com/) and Jamie (http://glutenfreemom.typepad.com/). It seems that Jules talked to a representative from Snyder’s who felt it was not important to have the pretzels tested for gluten content. Jules promptly wrote a letter to the President/CEO of Snyder’s, Mr. Carl Lee. Subsequently, Jamie posted the letter to her blog and got many of her readers to also contact Mr. Lee. Realizing the importance of testing to those with Celiac Disease, Snyder’s decided that it was important to many people to have their pretzels tested for gluten content. So I want to make sure that those who enjoy their Snyder’s Gluten Free Pretzels remember to thank those who aren’t complacent. Thank you Jules and Jamie. I now have one more item I can eat that I can be confident won’t make me sick. And so do many others.
So, until later, here’s to eating great pretzels and… Living better, easily!™
