Good for you! that is exciting. I wish I could grow one. I use lots of excuses to not. But, luckily, my FIL is a crazy gardener. So, we always get stocked up when we visit.

I love TED, too. Just wish I could get it to work on our Roku. We used to watch them every night until it stopped working. And don't worry about being an onion. Onions are good and flavorful. ;)

Wow! Deb, I am so sorry for your issues. I understand your feelings about the FDA. It sure seems like they are there to help out the corporations to sell their stuff instead of keeping us healthy. Most countries have a prove-it's-ok -before-we-allow-it policy, instead of our allow-it-until-it-is-proven-unsafe policy. Just crazy.

I hope you are able to get a handle on your health. Sounds like we all need to go back to growing our own, some how.

No where in my whole family tree do we have any cancer.... until last year I was diagnosed with non Hodgkin lymphoma. I was devastated and had a hard time trying to figure out WHY ME? Also... I was the one in the whole family tree with allergies.... and now I am one of those one in 3 women with cancer.... and YET... I have always eaten only whole foods and cook on a daily basis. Makes me think back and remember that my grandparents and parents NEVER had gut or intestinal problems like this generation does.... HOW can the government allow this to be introduced into our generations? If we had a huge march on washington to open up their ears and pass some GOOD laws for a change then maybe something would start the ball rolling. The FDA is a JOKE..... and should be held responsible for this tragedy....

Thank you so much for sharing this video! I hadn't see it yet, so I am glad you did. That has been my theory for awhile, that because of GMO practices it has wreaked havoc on our bodies. The other frustrating thing is that even when you try to buy organic, the organic industry is such a mess as well. You never know what is truly organic. This is the first year I am growing my own, truly organic garden, and I am so excited!

great talk. super frightening. i must say though, i think she overstates how much 'safer' Canadian food is. We have skyrocketing allergies here as well. And organic doesn't always fix everything- organic soy-based insecticide still passes as 'organic' and is used on organic products. Organic from California, is not the same product as organic from China- there are different rules for international imported foods than for local... *sudden urge to plant a garden*. Wait. with organic, pesticide free, non-engineered seeds- if i can find them anywhere! lol
So much to think about. so much.
